It is unrealistic and dangerous to build one giant AI that does everything. That is how you get data centers and mass surveillance. So we build the opposite: small experts, good at your things, running on your hardware, keeping your life in your house.
Two ways to get a Puff
Build your own bot from the base, or take home the one we built. Both ship through the beta today, via GitHub invite; free public downloads arrive with the release.
PATH ONE · BUILD YOUR OWN
Start with BuildBot,
the base.
BuildBot is the base every PuffPAI starts from, and it keeps the contracts: the three zones, the vault, the consent gates, zero telemetry. No build can weaken them.
At setup it says: let's see what we're working with here. It looks at your machine, fits a local model to it, sizes your agent team, and asks what kind of bot you are trying to build. Big box or a laptop, you end up with your bot, not our defaults.

Get HomeBot,
the first persona.
HomeBot is the first full persona we built on the base: the household companion. Calendar, smart home, media, your documents, voice, and the self-reliance library, all on the box.
Today HomeBot ships as software through the beta, on a machine you already own. The plug-in appliance is where this is going.
no payments at this time, just a list
Both paths end the same way: you name it, and it introduces itself back.
What's a Puff?
Four things, and none of them live in a data center.
01
A bot you build
An AI bot that you build. It can do anything, but not everything: a small expert in your things, not a giant know-it-all.
02
Three zones, non-negotiable
Every build ships all three, the Vault, the Brain and the Bridge, at a baseline that is always there and always stated. Build any zone out as far as you like: your own firewall, your own vault, your own tools.
03
Works with the internet off
Every PuffPAI keeps working when the internet is off. How much it can do offline depends on how you build it. It never needs the cloud to work.
04
Personalized, deeply
Highly customizable, and it learns your household: it ingests the documents and data you feed it, labels them, and keeps them in the house.
One base.
A family of personas.
Each persona is a subject-matter expert: its own knowledge, tools, agents and abilities, all on the same base. HomeBot is our first full bot build, here now. ReBot is next. The rest are the personas we want to build after that.
A persona is a local model, knowledge packs and tools, and agents for one domain, on the same three-zone base.
Not ready to wait for a whole persona? Its knowledge pack can ride along on one you already run. The self-reliance pack already ships inside HomeBot.
HomeBot
HERE NOW · OUR FIRST FULL BOT BUILDthe household companion
Runs the house day to day: calendar, smart home, media, documents, voice. It carries the self-reliance library too, so water, power, food and repairs are already on the shelf. This is the one in the beta, and the one the waitlist is for.

NEXTself-reliance and quiet defense
Preparedness and personal counter-surveillance, as a bot of its own: the knowledge, the tools and the agents for staying ready and staying private. Its pack already rides inside HomeBot. The full bot is what we are building next.
MedBot
ROADMAPmedical knowledge and eldercare
Medications, interactions and plain-language explanations. Never diagnoses, always informs.
AgriBot
ROADMAPagriculture and homesteading
Soil, seasons, livestock and the preserving math, for the land you actually have.
LedgerBot
ROADMAPfinancial literacy
Budgets, debt and the fine print, worked through without your numbers leaving the house.
CivicBot
ROADMAPlegal and civil rights
Your rights, your leases and your local process, explained before you need a lawyer.
ForgeBot
ROADMAPengineering and maker
Tolerances, wiring, firmware and the part number you cannot find at 11pm.
The only limit is the hardware you put it on. Off-grid, survival, security, engineering, a clinic's paperwork: build the expert you need.
Ideas, not promises. The order will follow what people actually need.
See it running
Real screenshots, personal details blurred, because that's the point. This is the early build, warts included.
How it keeps
your stuff yours
Three zones. Your private things, the shared brain, and the one lane that touches the outside world. Everything it learns is about your household, not a demographic it filed you under.
These three zones are the contracts every build keeps. It picks the zone for every request. You never have to.
The baseline is always on, in every build. How far each zone goes is up to you.
ZONE 2 · THE BIG ONE
The Brain
The model, its tool calls, the agent team, the indexing, and the knowledge base: knowledge packs plus a curated offline library of publicly available reference material.
Documents you load are labeled and ingested automatically, so your manuals sit on the same shelf as the reference books. The longer you use it, the more the shelf looks like your house.
ZONE 3 · THE ONE LANE OUT
The Bridge
The internet lane and the house guard, in one place. Weather, traffic and music come in with your identity stripped off the request.
Going the other way it sees every device on the network and manages them, and when you want it to, it acts as a firewall that shuts down the gadgets that tattle. Your TV does not need to report your evening to anyone. A simple firewall is built in, and it can tie into the security gear you already run, routers and firewalls, to go further.
identity stripped
every device seen
firewall the tattlers
every connection, switchable
Zero telemetry. Zero phone-home. PuffPAI uses the internet like a utility (weather, music, radio) without reporting you back to anyone. Every outside connection is listed in plain sight and can be switched off. And when the internet goes down, PuffPAI keeps working.
